Reported and photographed from 2003-2007, this Frontline/World flashPoint feature takes us to Moldova, where Chakarova captures the lives of young women trafficked into the sex trade in Russia, Turkey, the Balkans, the United Arab Emirates and Israel.

In this 2008 Emmy-nominated Frontline/World documentary, Chakarova goes undercover to report a story about prostitution in Dubai, a city of 1.5 million known as the Las Vegas of the Persian Gulf.

An acquaintance promised Vika a job as a waitress, instead, she sold her to a sex trafficker who put the 19-year-old to work in Dubai.  When she became pregnant, Vika's price doubled—men gladly pay more for big-bellied women. Mimi Chakarova followed Vika’s story for three years.
